Back to School Bulletin Board Ideas

Get ready to ignite creativity and excitement in your classroom as the new school year approaches with this collection of back to school bulletin board ideas! Crafting captivating bulletin boards isn’t just about decoration; it’s about setting the stage for a welcoming and engaging learning environment. From colorful displays to thematic showcases, I’ve gathered a variety of fun and engaging bulletin boards from around the web!

Every summer, I scour the internet for cute new back-to-school bulletin board ideas for my classroom. I like to have a mix of pre-made boards and blank ones (except for the wording). During the first week of school, I always plan simple art projects that I can quickly add to the blank boards.

A Rainbow of Possibilities Back to School Bulletin Board

Both of these back to school bulletin board ideas come from Katie Mallette @katieplus4. She’s an art teacher with tons of great ideas! What I like about these bulletin boards is that they can be set up fairly easily before the kids come, and they make a beautiful and bright welcome for students as they enter the classroom on their first day!

We All Fit Together

This board comes from @lightbulbmomentslearning. Can you tell I love bulletin boards with black backgrounds LOL! Kelly even has the pieces for this back to school bulletin board for a very reasonable price in her TPT store, which makes the setup so much easier!

The Future of the World

This bulletin board comes from @teaching.inhighheels. Gladys also has the wording for this bulletin board in her TPT store. The kids’ clip art is from Melonheadz. I love to buy kid clip art and print the individual pieces on card stock to make fun little additions to my back-to-school bulletin boards. I also love Whismy Clips for cute kids’ clip art!

Look Who’s in Our Class Back to School Bulletin Board

I found this bulletin board on Pinterest and thought it was so cute! I apologize, but I don’t know who the image originally belonged to (let me know if you know)! I have a free owl craft in my store that you can use to go with the back to school bulletin board.

Donut You Love Pre-K?

This idea came from @crafteemissb! I couldn’t find her TPT store, but this craft could easily be assembled using simple construction paper templates. I also found adorable donut cutouts on Amazon, along with donut and sprinkle borders!

Throw Kindness Like Confetti!

This is another back to school bulletin board where I couldn’t find the original person who shared it, but it would be so easy to do with post-it notes! Don’t forget that KG fonts has all of their fonts available for free is you are using them for personal/classroom use! She also has some bulletin board wording ready to go as well!

This one comes from @itselementarymydear. It took me a second to track this one down, but she also has it in her TPT shop. Simple and easy bulletin board to have ready before the students come in on the first day!

Best Work Ever

This idea comes from @teachinganduplifting. I’ve seen various versions of this, but I love the concept of basically a blank wall ready for students’ work, but the colorful paper makes it look so polished!

Welcome Back! The Books Missed You!

This idea comes from @twolibrarians. It’s no surprise that this back-to-school bulletin board was made by librarians! Photocopy the cover pages and characters, and you’re good to go!
