Chicka Chicka Book Boom First Week of School Activitiy

Today’s schedule will be centered around Chicka Chicka Boom Boom activities.  As you all know, this is a great book to use during the first week of school. Not just because the kids love it, but also for the letter activities, and assessment possibilities!

Daily Schedule – Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Activities

  • 8 am – Arrival and Morning Work – Stand at the door to greet and review morning procedures. Students work on their fine motor skills again with a tracing page.
  • 8:30 am – Calendar and Class Rules – We practice our calendar routines and discuss rule #3, and color the corresponding coloring page.
  • 9:00 am – Teach Routines – Working from my procedures list, I teach them all about classroom jobs and how the rotation works. We practice some of the jobs as well. We also go over our routines for early finisher work.
  • 9:30 am – Assessment – Letter sound picture match.
